It will be returned when equipment is returned at year end. It will NOT be deposited unless the equipment isn't returned. Equipment will be distributed during the first week of seasonal practice.

As a parent, can I stay and watch my child's team practices?

Yes, but please stay off the field and let the coaches handle practice. If you have any questions for the coaches, your Team Admin may be able to answer your questions. Anything additional, please try to speak to them before or after practice

When will we get game schedules for the season?

The MMYFCL prepares the game schedules several days prior to first game.  Both websites will post schedules.

Where are games played?

Home games are played at Fairland Recreational football field. Away games are held at other MMYFCL team locations - please see the Mid-Maryland Youth Football & Cheer League (MMYFCL) website for field directions.

Will teams practice during inclement weather?

It all depends. Our player’s safety is always a priority and our coaching staff monitors the weather very closely. In instances when inclement weather appears during practice, our staff has a protocol in place to clear players safely off the field. When we have to cancel practice prior to our start, individual coaches will notify teams if it is not announced over our mobile app or email listing.

What can I do, as a Saints parent, to help out during the season?

All parents will be REQUIRED to volunteer SIX hours for the upcoming Saint's season. The tasks that are needed include selling apparel at home games, assisting at the Snack Shack, team parents, field setup/tear down, running chains, equipment, fundraising, etc. We will also schedule periodic parent meetings to discuss various issues, including volunteer opportunities. There is also a fundraiser commitment that is vital to keep costs to a bare minimum. There will be a $100 fundraiser deposit check & $50 deposit check for volunteer hours neither will not be cashed unless obligations are not fulfilled.  More information will be provided during our parent orientation in the beginning of our 2025 fall season.

How will I know what team my child will be eligible to play on?

On both the Saints and the MMYFCL websites, there are weight/age charts that identify which weight class your son/daughter is eligible for. Based on your child's age, weight and experience level, the Saints coaches will direct each player onto the appropriate team. There is no choice of which team your son plays on. He will play in the lowest division that his age & weight will allow. His skill level will also determine which team in that division he will play on if there are enough players for a Div 1. and Div 2 team.

Are ID cards required to play?

Yes. Every player must have a valid ID card for proof of age and identity. They are required for league weigh-ins as well as at each game during the season. Once teams are assigned, each head coach will keep the book of all player ID cards during the season. At the end of the season, once all equipment is turned in, ID cards will be returned.

How do I obtain and ID card?

All participants in our program are required to have a valid ID to participate in our program. There are one of two ways to obtain such an ID, one is to go to the MVA and obtain a State Issued ID, these ID's do not expire for 5 years. (Please note: The MVA now mails out their ID's and this process takes approximately 2 weeks to obtain, please take into account the time frame needed to obtain such an ID) Another option is to receive a League Issued ID from MMYFCL, we will provide various dates and locations to obtain such ID's as the season starts. These ID's will last for 2 season.

What if we are not residents of Maryland, or are not US citizens?

We have a process in place to make league approved ID cards. We require a birth certificate, passport or visa, and 2 passport photos.
